Most of the time before birth, the baby’s body has maximal health and resistance. During or after the delivery injuries can occur from events like a forceps delivery or a fall. The body compensates and adapts from injuries like this during growth. The body has to continuously deal with several types of stressors
Physical stressors- eg. A car accident, heavy lifting, poor posture, strenuous exercise, sports injuries, or long work hours.

Emotional stressors- eg. divorce, problems at work, or the death of a loved one.
Chemical stressors- eg. Allergies to certain foods, long term alcohol use, poor diet, or air pollution.
When several types of stress build up during someone’s life, the natural resistance of the body gradually becomes less. Then the ability of the body to adapt and compensate to stress decreases.
The lowered resistance and inability of the body to adapt causes structural changes in the body. Especially in the spine and the pelvis. These changes disturb the balance of the nervous system. The body finally reaches a stage where there is maximal adaptation and compensation and a minimum of resistance.
When the body is in this physical condition, illnesses can develop and organs function poorly, and eventually signs and symptoms of illness and physical pain will arise.
Remember: You don’t need to wait until symptoms develop before getting your spine checked
